The Power of Connection: What Our 2024-25 School Year Impact Data Reveals
When I joined the Home Works team in mid-April, I was moved by the deep sense of purpose that runs through every part of this work. Parents and caregivers feel seen by their children’s educators, teachers have a meaningful outlet to connect with families beyond the classroom, and students are hitting their academic targets while also experiencing a stronger sense of belonging within their school communities.
Today I have the joy of sharing my first Impact Report as CEO and it’s clear that what we’re doing together is working.
If you’re reading this, it’s because you share our belief that students succeed when families and educators form strong partnerships rooted in a foundation of trust. Thanks to the incredible support from our community partners, we’ve seen powerful proof of that belief in action over the past year.
The data from the 2024-25 school year tells a compelling story. Here are just a few highlights that inspire us most:
Home Works families are spending an average of 22 additional minutes each night learning at home
100% of teachers reported that students who received visits showed improved sense of belonging at school
97% of teachers reported that home visits deepened their understanding of students’ cultures and home lives
These outcomes aren’t just numbers. They represent real moments of change: a parent and caregiver feeling more confident, a child raising their hand in class for the first time, and a teacher better understanding their students’ families.
We’re excited to represent this spirit of teamwork in our refreshed branding, which serves as a reflection of the vibrant partnerships that make this work possible.
As we look ahead, we’re building on this momentum by exploring ways in which we can continue to deepen our impact within the communities that we serve in addition to bringing our program to more schools who can benefit from building their capacity for family engagement.
We invite you to explore our 2024-25 Impact Report to see more of what’s possible when families and educators come together for students. I’d love to hear what outcomes resonate most with you at afloreak@teamhomeworks.org.
With gratitude,
Ashli Florek
